Bio: Fred is a violin, viola, piano, and music theory instructor based in Los Angeles, with six years of teaching experience. She welcomes students of all ages and levels, combining clear expectations and structured practice with encouragement and creativity. Her lessons are focused, engaging, and thoughtfully adapted to each student. She challenges students to work with care and consistency, helping them develop strong technique, independence, confidence, and lasting musical discipline.

A professional violinist and violist, Fred has performed with professional orchestras and chamber ensembles throughout Quebec, Canada. An accomplished chamber musician, she won a Gold Medal in the String Quartet division of the Canadian Music Competition. She is also a composer and orchestrator whose music has been performed by the Montreal Symphony Orchestra and featured in films and video games. Her original scores have earned her the SOCAN Foundation Emerging Screen Composer Award for Animation and a win at the OnScore Brave Scoring Competition, presented in collaboration with composer Patrick Doyle and Disney Pixar. She has also recorded violin for numerous film and video game productions. This broad experience allows her to guide students with both technical precision and artistic imagination.

Originally from Montreal, Fred studied and lived in Belgium and Chicago before making Los Angeles her home. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Viola Performance and a diploma in Instrumental Composition, as well as an MFA in Composition for the Screen. Fluent in French and English, she creates a positive and disciplined learning environment where students are supported, motivated, and inspired to reach their full potential.
